What is the Pictou County District Planning Commission (PCDPC) ?

The Pictou County District Planning Commission is a multi-functional agency established by Provincial Statute, to provide regional services to the communities of Pictou County. The Commission is funded jointly by the Towns of New Glasgow, Pictou, Stellarton, Trenton, and Westville as well as the Municipality of the County of Pictou. The Commission consists of two representatives from each municipal unit, plus the Mayor/Warden.

What Services are Offered by the PCDPC ?

The Commission maintains a staff whose duties are to provide Regional Services and Planning and Development Services to the member municipal units. The Planning Commission is divided into a Planning and Development Service Division (land use planning, building inspection and development control) and two Regional Services Divisions (refuse collection and disposal, and water pollution control).
