ACOA Funding Proposal
This Project will include applying through the Pictou Regional Development
Commission (PRDC) for an ACOA grant to fund a major portion of the technical
work required to build the comprehensive GIS database and information
analysis layers. ACOA funding will specifically relate to Parts 3-7 that
involve building the database for the other four towns. This funding will
substantially reduce the project time frame.
Target Nova Scotia
Through PRDC, the Planning Commission is also working with the Dept. of
Economic Development's "NS Business Inc." to develop a Pictou
County pilot website for their Target Nova Scotia project. Target NS is
designed to attract business site selectors from across North America
to explore development opportunities throughout Nova Scotia. The GIS database
will form the basis for profiling Pictou County within the Nova Scotia
picture.
